The UK Vape Tax is Coming 📅
Starting 1st October 2026, the UK government is introducing the Vaping Products Duty on all e-liquids (including nicotine-free). While no products or flavours are being banned, your daily vape will become more expensive in the near future.
How Much Will Prices Rise? 💰
The tax adds a flat rate of £2.20 per 10ml of liquid plus VAT, adding at least:
- £2.64 on 10ml e-liquids
- £1.06 on a 2-pack of pods
- £3.17 on a 12ml big puff kit
- £13.20 on 50ml shortfills
When Will You Actually Pay More? 🛒
You won't feel the pinch overnight. While many duty-added products will be on shelves from Oct 2026, a six-month grace period allows shops to clear out older, untaxed stock. You will realistically start seeing these higher prices across the board from April 2027.
Choosing the right nicotine strength
If you're a smoker looking to switch to vaping, we recommend opting for the highest nicotine strength range (18-20mg) to keep cigarette cravings at bay. If you'd prefer not to start at maximum strength, use this guide based on your previous smoking habits:

Please be aware that some brands list their nic strengths as percentages on packaging but for consistency we will always display them as milligram per ml (mg or mg/ml). 6mg as a percentage is 0.6%, 10mg is 1% and 20mg is 2%.
