About IQOS TEREA
TEREA is the name of specialised tobacco sticks used with the IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA ONE devices. TEREA sticks come in packs of 20 and feature next-gen heating technology known as SmartCore Induction: an electromagnetic core that gently heats your TEREA stick from the inside - no blade required.
IQOS TEREA is a heated tobacco product range, meaning that despite using real tobacco in every stick, no flame is produced, and, as such, no burning takes place. Based on research, IQOS ILUMA (paired with TEREA Sticks) generates 95% less harmful chemicals than smoking conventional cigarettes!
Please note that the IQOS TEREA range is only compatible with IQOS ILUMA devices. TEREA tobacco sticks cannot be used with the older generation, HEETS-compatible IQOS Originals Duo device.
What TEREA Sticks Are Available?
TEREA sticks match many of the flavours found in the original IQOS HEETS range, including popular flavours like TEREA Amber and TEREA Sienna. Generally, the TEREA ILUMA sticks on offer are divided into the following categories:
- Classic
These options focus on the tobacco base in every stick by adding flavour nuances to amplify certain aspects, such as nuts, malt, wood and tea. Yellow, Amber, Teak, Sienna and Russet TEREA sticks fit this category.
- Menthol
These options include a menthol overtone (in varying intensity). Turquoise is a low-intensity option; Green is a balanced peppermint option; Blue is a bold and cool option.
- Aromatic
Mauve belongs in this category; mild berry and mint notes provide a distinct flavour aroma.

IQOS Mauve Wave TEREA
I don't normally like or use replacement tobacco products, with 'fruity' flavours. However, I tried these sticks recently and I really enjoyed the flavour. They combine a lovely, fresh, minty type flavour with just a hint of fruit and are very refreshing.

IQOS TEREA tobacco sticks utilise an integrated design, making installation very intuitive. Gently insert your TEREA stick into the top of your IQOS ILUMA device, with the filter and 'TEREA' printed word facing up. Used TEREA sticks have two indicators: The paper around the filter is slightly creased. There will be a slight tobacco vapor stain on the paper. To avoid confusion, it’s recommended to dispose of the stick immediately after use. Another tip: Place the used TEREA stick back in the pack upside-down. When selecting a TEREA stick, check that the wavy line is visible.
Insert your TEREA stick into the IQOS ILUMA holder with the TEREA logo facing up. If correctly inserted, the logo will remain visible when gently pushed down. Remember, IQOS ILUMA is designed for use only with SMARTCORE STICKS.
Nothing happens. The device won’t start. IQOS ILUMA only activates when a TEREA stick is detected. Stick to TEREA SMARTCORE STICKS for optimal performance.
