How long does the JUUL Battery last?

The JUUL battery is designed to last for up to 12 hours of persistent use, or at least for the duration of a full JUULPod. With heavier use, for instance those who use the device every few minutes, the battery will last around 8 hours.

The JUUL has an internal lithium-ion battery. As with all batteries of this kind, repeated charging and discharging leads to deterioration; meaning the battery won’t last as long as it did when brand new. Generally, you shouldn’t notice this until your device is at least 6 months old. Past this point, if you notice the life is significantly shorter, you should consider replacing the JUUL battery (typically at the 1-2 year mark).

Can you refill JUULPods?

JUULPods are not designed to be refilled. The pods feature an in-built coil which is designed to vapourise the liquid that’s already present; beyond this point, the coil is likely to be far less effective and burn out quickly.

How long does a JUULPod last?

The lifespan of each JUULPod largely depends on use. Each pod contains 0.7ml of e-liquid, which provides 200 puffs on average. This can equate to a few hours or a full day depending on your vaping habits.

How do I clean my JUUL?

Cleaning your JUUL is good practice and can fix a few common issues, so try to do so every few weeks.

First, remove the pod from the device. Next, take a cotton swab or cotton bud and gently wipe all electrical contact points. This includes on the bottom of the device (charging contacts), inside the pod slot (pod contacts) and on the base of your current pod itself. You can use a very small amount of rubbing alcohol, but this isn’t required!

Where can I find my JUUL serial number?

Every JUUL device has a serial number, which may be required by JUUL if you encounter product faults. Your 8-character serial number can be found on the back of your device underneath the JUUL logo.

My JUUL is leaking

Occasionally your JUULPod may leak slightly from the mouthpiece. This is typically caused by e-liquid being drawn into the airway chamber either by drawing too hard on the mouthpiece or by squeezing or compressing the pod while it’s in the device.

In this event, you should simply wipe away any leakage - the pod is still safe to use. If the problem persists, try removing the pod, turning it upside down and gently tapping it against a piece of tissue. This will remove any of the liquid still caught in the chamber.

The best way of avoiding leakages is to change the way you vape. You don’t need to inhale too hard when using the JUUL, as the device is designed to offer a satisfying hit with a small cloud. You should also avoid biting or squeezing the mouthpiece as this can create small gaps for the e-liquid to seep through.

My JUUL doesn’t produce enough vapour / not enough power

The JUUL isn’t designed to generate lots of vapour, but if you notice you’re getting less of a hit then you normally do, here are a few quick fixes. Work through the list below and try using your JUUL after each step to see if the issue is corrected.

  • Remove the pod from the slot, reverse it and re-insert.
  • Remove the pod and tap it gently on a surface; this will dislodge any air bubbles around the coil. You can also gently flick the pod for the same result.
  • Remove the pod and gently squeeze the area where the black cap and transparent plastic meet. You should hear a slight noise - this is the wick soaking up liquid.
  • Remove the pod, turn it upside down and tap gently on a piece of tissue.

These fixes correct the majority of airflow, vapour and draw-based issues!

My JUUL isn’t producing any vapour

If your JUUL isn’t producing any vapour at all you may have a connectivity or battery issue. Fortunately, there are a few effective fixes!

The first thing you should do if your JUUL doesn’t ‘hit’ or activate at all is to clean the connection points, as addressed previously. Use a cotton wool swab to do so, and be sure to clean all connection points - primarily those on the base of the pod and inside the slot where the pod goes. Even a small amount of liquid on the connectors can cause issues!

If this doesn’t resolve your issue, check the bottom of the pod. The gold connectors should be lifted slightly; this allows them to make contact with the battery. If the connectors are pushed too far in or are slanted downward toward the mouthpiece, they may not properly make contact with the battery. In this situation, you should let your retailer know.

Finally, try an alternative pod and see if this works as intended. If the problem persists with different pods, this suggests a product fault which will require a replacement from your retailer or JUUL themselves.

My JUUL isn’t charging

You'll know your JUUL is charging by the pulsing LED light on the battery. For the standard JUUL, this will be a small, circular LED light. On the JUUL C1, this will be a band of LED lights on the base of the battery. Charging should take 45-60 minutes.

When charging your JUUL on its USB dock, try to use a USB socket that is upright (horizontal). While the charger is magnetic, charging your JUUL at an angle or sideways can cause it to lean, breaking the connection. If this doesn’t apply to you, try using a different USB port entirely, ideally on a PC or laptop, and see if your JUUL charges properly.

Finally, check the connectors on the base of the pod are completely clean.

My JUUL tastes burnt

A burnt taste can be caused by a number of things, including:

  • Dirty connectors
  • A burnt wick
  • An empty pod

If the connectors on your JUUL are dirty, a quick clean should resolve the issue right away. If the issue is caused by a burnt wick, this suggests there is air build-up in the liquid chamber, causing the cotton surrounding the coil to burn when heated. Once this cotton is burnt, it’s difficult to reverse the damage; you can continue to use the pod but the taste may be unpleasant. Finally, when your pod is completely empty it will quickly burn - time to install a new pod!

Regularly tap, flick or gently squeeze the pod to prevent air bubbles forming. Take care not to ‘pull’ or inhale too hard on the mouthpiece at any time.
